Before Nick proposed on Christmas Day we had planned on trying for a baby after our wedding in July but realistically we knew that it takes months and sometimes years to fall pregnant. Doing the maths if we fell pregnant straight away Baby T would be due right in the middle of my first semester back at uni... Not the ideal time to have a newborn! Long story short... We decided to start trying in April to give ourselves a 'head start' incase we had trouble conceiving. We read tonnes of books, started the pre natal vitamins, I cut out caffeine and went cold turkey on Pepsi Max (which I was addicted to). Fast forward to the end of April....I KNEW I was pregnant!!! I had cramps ... But different cramps! I was exhausted and had gone to bed before 8pm the whole week before we found out. I tried not to get my hopes up so didn't mention it to Nick. On the 27th of April we took the test and walked away (it seemed too good to be true that we would be blessed with a baby so soon).. 2 minutes later.... PREGNANT!! To say we were excited would be a massive understatement!! There were tears (from me... Nick was a MAN and kept his tears in somehow) and a massive sense of relief that WE HAD MADE A HUMAN!! We have known for 2 weeks now and it seems so surreal still since we haven't told anyone. I have been to the doctor and hat it confirmed by blood test, have our midwife appointments set and we get to see Baby T at our 8 week scan on 28th May to find out the due date and hopefully see the heart beat if he or she is big enough.
I am planning on doing a weekly diary for you all with a belly bump from Week 8 onwards so you can all watch me grow since you can't see me in person!
