Week 24

Oh our baby girl is getting so big and strong! We can feel her long feet through my belly when she pushes out and boy does it stretch my belly out! Most of the day I am walking around with a wonky one sided belly because she sticks her head out on the left side of my belly button and I have a permanent bulge there!

I have been having a few Braxton Hicks this week which is my uterus practicing for labor.. So a good sign that my body knows what it will have to do in 15 weeks! They are mostly painless and just a general tightening but I had one VERY painful one at Good guys this week and couldn't talk through it? I think it was a combination of a Braxton hick and round ligament pain as she is stretching  my belly out so much. I have also had a tearing/ripping feeling behind my belly button which is made worse when I am laying in bed without my belly supported.

My bump is definately a bump now!!  Although I look at this photo and don't look THAT big!

What is the baby up to this week? She is about 30cm long and is slowly filling out! Her brain is growing quickly and her taste buds are developing this week and may be able to taste what I am eating! She is starting to 'pink' up and be less translucent!

Maternity clothes? I bought a pair for work this week and they are so big I need to wear my belly belt over them to hold them up.... I will grow into them (hopefully)!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: let's not even go there.... Between a very sick Labrador and a baby girl that seems to take joy out of kicking my insides so hard at night that I am awake atleast once every hour... I have not had enough sleep.. But luckily it is uni holidays so I have been able to sleep in on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Best moment this week: Painting the nursery (well the ceiling.. The ceilings in the whole house actually) and having a random customer ask me when I was due- my bump was finally recognised as a bump!!!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee and soft serve!!

Movement: SO MUCH!!!!! We play a special classical music track to her and she just goes bananas in there flipping and rolling around!!

Food cravings: Pasta this week!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!! Not quite a basketball shaped bump yet but I have no waist anymore!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Mostly happy when Baby girl is moving around in there!  I have a feeling I am going to miss being pregnant and having our baby girl all to myself- but cannot wait to meet our little princess!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room walls and getting the furniture in!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 23

This week was spent recovering from a cold (while looking after Nick who had man flu!).. I am exhausted and even on my day off work I had to get up at 6am because laying down was blocking my nose and head up... Gross!!! Baby Girl has been little miss active this week and I am loving it. It still amazes me that another human is inside me! She has started to push out against my belly really hard and when I lay down Nick and I can feel the outline of her leg (or arm) or her head pushing out! It is a perfect reminder that in 120ish days will we be able to hold our baby girl, kiss her and cuddle her and smell that sweet smell that only newborns are capable of having!

Embracing the bump this week!! Still getting a few comments at work about not looking 'fat enough' to be 6 months pregnant but then yesterday a lady from work decided to randomly touch my belly.... I loved it!!! My first belly rub from a stranger!!! My bump has started to get a little in the way now.. I can't fit through as small gaps anymore and carrying boxes has become tricky since I used to use my stomach to hold it up too!!

What is the baby up to this week? She is over 1 pound now!!!!!! Amazing!!! And explains the heavy, large feeling I have! She is about 30cm from head to foot and her ear bones are fully formed (which means she can hear me singing in the car.. Poor girl). Her lungs are now developing for breathing and she is swallowing the amniotic fluid!

Maternity clothes? Just my jeans and a belly belt (aka a life saver)

Stretch marks? Nope! And lotioning daily!!

Sleep: sleeping is becoming tricky too... I am a stomach sleeper so I am making do with my modified side stomach position with the body pillow... But then baby girl decides that every hour on the hour is a great time to kick me as hard as possible that it makes me jump and I realise I need to go to the toilet.. EVERY HOUR!!!!

Best moment this week: We cleared out Baby T's room ready for painting this weekend and a surprise package on our front door from my Nan and her friend Shelly with the first of apparently many instalments of baby girl clothing!!!! Everything smells so clean and fresh!! And is so tiny!!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!!!

Movement: So much!! I was laying in bed last night with my belly against Nicks back and WHOMP she kicked him straight in the back.. And then again.. And again!!!!! They kicks are so strong now!! We read somewhere that she will start to respond to light soon so we made the room dark and shone a torch on my belly... And like clockwork she kicked me right where the light was... We turned the light off and then back on.. Se she kicked again!!!!! We have one smart strong cookie in there!!

Food cravings:  Apples and Iced coffee.. So I am settling for apples!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken..... Anything chicken-y!! And the smell of chips cooking... Uuughhhh!!!

Have you started to show yet: Definately a baby bump now!! We went to a market today and had a few women ask how far along I was while looking at my burgeoning belly!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? In and went and got a maternity belly ring!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy is an understatement!!!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room and our midwife appointment next Wednesday to hear her heartbeat!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 22

We have had a big week!! Especially our weekend! A whirlwind weekend spent flying home, a wedding on Saturday and a christening on Sunday... Then flying home Monday! It was fantastic to see family and they got to see my little bump! Our baby girl got very spoilt... Lots of clothes, an amazing handmade play blanket, a jolly jumper, baby monitor and 2 baby carriers.

We are so blessed with such generous family and friends! The wedding was fantastic and nice to compare my bump to Sarah and Teg who are ahead of us by 14 and 7 weeks! Can't wait to have a nice big bump like them!

My bump is... Bumpish!!! If I wear baggy clothes I can hide it quite easily but in a tight shirt I definately have a bump! My family loved getting to feel her bulge out and kick them! Dad got to feel a massive kick and he was amazed! My bump is getting HAIRY though!!! Just a fine layer of blonde hair that makes my belly look like a peach! I also have grown some very fierce looking side burns that thankfully are blonde and will fall out once I have given birth!!!

What is the baby up to this week? Her eyes are formed but still don't have their colour yet! She weighs nearly half a kilo and has hair all over her body and is preparing to fill out her wrinkly skin with a nice layer of fat!

Maternity clothes? Just my jeans!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: exhausted after this weekend so ready for ALOT of sleep!

Best moment this week: All of our baby girls gifts!!!!

Miss Anything? Being close to our families!! Going back home has made me realise just how far we live from our friends and family!

Movement: SO MUCH!!!!! It is still amazing to me that it is our DAUGHTER that is kicking me!! Nick likes to poke her back and she usually pushes back twice hard and makes me flinch!

Food cravings: apples and watermelon... And cups of tea!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!! Still getting lots of comments about how small I am though so hopefully I start to look pregnant rather than chubby soon!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? In but I have a feeling it will pop out!! !

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room and getting her crib and change table off laybuy and then starting the decorating!!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 21

My energy levels are finally back!!!!!! Or it could just be the amazing 'high' I have been on since we had our scan last week!!! I can't wait to start on our Baby Girl's nursery when we get back from the wedding and christening in NSW!!! Then we can start buying everything to fill her nursery!!

We had our midwife appointment on Wednesday night and got put into the RED team of midwives and had another tour of the birthing centre so Nick could see the bath where I will hopefully get to have a water birth!! We got our NT scan results and all was great EXCEPT my PAPP-A results were slightly too low (0.39 instead of greater than 0.40) so we have to get another ultrasound scan at 32/34 weeks to make sure she is meeting her growth targets in there and my placenta is doing what it should!!

My bump this week is... Getting there!!! Just when I think 'oh I have popped' I look at the photo and still just look a little bloated.

What is the baby up to this week? Her eyebrows and hair begin to get their colour this week... So she no longer has white hair and it will become blonde or brown or black or red... My guess is blonde.. Nick thinks Brown!!!!

Maternity clothes? Just my jeans so far!! Still on the lookout for work pants!!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: still enjoying my early nights and I generally wake up just before my 4:30am alarm to Baby T kicking me.... She is just preparing me for the night and early morning feeds I will be doing in a few months!

Best moment this week: Hearing Baby T's heartbeat!!!!!!! We had our first midwife appointment since our 12 week one and got to hear her heartbeat!! The midwife couldn't stop laughing because as soon as she put the Doppler on my belly the bub kicked it so hard we heard the DOOF sound through the machine!!! It took a bit of fiddling to find her heartbeat as she kept flipping around in my belly! We finally found it and a nice healthy 163bpm!!

Miss Anything? Running !! But we did make up for it by going on a big 10km walk with the dogs this weekend...

Movement: YES!!!!!!!! The most amazing thing I have ever ever felt!!! I really feel sorry for men or women who cannot have a baby who will never get to experience the feeling of having your baby move around INSIDE you!!

Food cravings: Nothing really!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: In a tight singlet.. YES!!! In anything else... NO!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? Innie at the moment!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! So so happy!!!

Looking forward to: our weekend trip back home for a wedding and Koby's christening!!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 20

Falling more in love everyday with our baby girl!!! I spend every hour I am awake just day dreaming of what she will look like, her personality, what she will like or dislike!! I can't wait to start our new life together as a family of 3!!! I feel so connected to her already and she is still so tiny!! We have picked the colours for the nursery and will start that once we get back from the wedding and christening! I announced it on Facebook this week which means most work people know now and I am getting lots of "congratulations" and "where are you hiding it?" and "we knew you were when you were so sick a few months ago!"!!!

I feel HUGE already but then I look at this photo and I just look like I ate a little too much!!!!

What is the baby up to this week? Halfway!!!!!! Her ears are perfectly formed this week and she can no doubt hear us talking to her and calling her by her name which means she can recognise our familiar voices when she is born!!

Maternity clothes? Just my jeans! I have gone through my summer clothes and I have a lot of stretchy skirts and dresses which I am hoping will get me through summer!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: still exhausted no matter how much sleep I get!

Best moment this week: Seeing our baby girl at the ultrasound! Finding out she is a SHE! Seeing her cute little nose on the screen and having friends comment on the fact it looks like mine!!

Miss Anything? Iced Coffee!!!

Movement: YES!!!!!!!! And the kicks make me jump every now and then they are so strong! When she rolls over I can feel her feet poking out, or her head bulging to the side! I love it! Nick liked to play with her and will poke my belly back where she kicks and she seems to respond and kick back harder!!

Food cravings: Nothing really!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: Kind of... Depends on how much I have eaten! To a stranger I don't look pregnant yet!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? In but I have a feeling it will pop out!! I will need to get a maternity belly ring soon too!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: WEdnedsay we have our midwife appointment where we meet our birth team and get to discuss my water birth plan!!

Well that is all for this week!
