Week 15

Back to work this week!! And I am exhausted!! 4:30am wake ups with a Statistics exam thrown in the middle was definitely a reality check after my 2 weeks off work. We have been going to bed before 8pm every night. I like to let Nick know that it is because I am exhausted from work AND growing a human and he should be fine to stay up and party because he isn't the one growing a human... I think he just goes out in sympathy with me! Heartburn has been PAINFUL this week and 3 people have recommended fruit tingles.. So will have to get me some of those. The only person at work that knows I am pregnant is my Boss so he has been watching me carefully to make sure I am not lifting the heavy things... It's amazing how heavy things become when you know you shouldn't be lifting them. And also how much I usually use my stomach muscles to move the big racks at work... I am a lot more conscious of it now!

Onto the bump photo! My 'bump' now pokes out further then the button of my jeans so I can definitely see some progress in the belly department.... Although Nick doesn't think there is anything there yet!

What is the baby up to this week? Baby T now gets the hiccups and the legs and arms are catching up to his or her tiny body and big head. He or she is forming the taste buds and if we were to shine a light onto my belly Baby T would move away from it! Simply amazing!

Maternity clothes? Not yet but I am going to need some new work pants very soon because the ones I have don't have a way to 'undo' them when my belly gets bigger!

Stretch marks? Nope but my skin is so so itchy all the time.

Sleep: Heaps and it is amazing! Although I have to get up 3-4 times a night to wee..

Best moment this week: Although not baby related going back to work and having all the congratulations (for the wedding since everybody is still oblivious to the pregnancy) and getting to talk about our wedding was really nice.

Miss Anything? Being able to run without having to hold my chest! Even with a great sports bra anything more than a walk is just not possible.

Movement: Not yet by cant be too long away!

Food cravings: Watermelon and salad which aren't the best in winter but so yummy.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of coffee and the smell of the pizza rolls when they come out of the bakery very at work.. GAG!!!

Have you started to show yet: To me.. Yes! To anybody else probably not. What do you think?

Gender prediction: Ahhh I just don't know! Janette had a dream it was a boy and Teaghan's had a dream it was a girl! Saying 'his' and 'he' is so easy these days though!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Happy or Moody most of the time: Unbelievably happy! Ecstatic! Time is flying and it feels like only yesterday we were pacing the hallway waiting for the pregnancy test to say 'Pregnant'!

Looking forward to: Next Thursday we have our Maternity and birthing Centre tour and we can't wait!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 14

I have a BUMP! Well atleast my pants are a little tight on my belly and when I lay down you can see it poking it up finally!! This has been the week of spewing and heartburn! I don't think it was all morning sickness though.. It has been an endless cycle of being too ill to eat and then getting so hungry that I feel more ill and then I eat so much at once that it has nowhere to go but back out! GROSS! We did a massive road trip back to Adelaide from Perth and poor exhausted Nick had to pull over many times so I could be sick and wee ten million times! As for the heartburn... WOAH! I didn't realise it hurts so so badly! I thought my heart and ribs were on fire at one stage. And then I ate Indian food..... Bad idea!

Here is my week 14 bump.. Definitely more rounded and my boobs have finally stopped growing (atleast for this week)!!

What is the baby up to this week? Baby T can squint, frown and can suck his or her thumb. the facial muscles are getting a good workout and is apparently kicking and punching me in there! Urine is being made and expelled and the liver has started to make bile! It's body is beginning to catch up to the big head finally!

Maternity clothes? Not yet

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: I have been loving sleep!! Sleeping like .. A baby!! I usually toss and turn and cat get comfortable because my chest is so sore... But now I close my eyes and don't wake l until I am busting to wee! I am getting conscious of not sleeping on my back but wake up on my back occasionally!

Best moment this week: Seeing the bump... Although I need to lay down to see it! And Baby T received his or her first clothes from Janette and Noble... So adorable! It brought tears to my eyes when I pulled the tiny little clothes out of the bag!

Miss Anything? Still runny eggs... Scrambled just isn't cutting it anymore!

Movement: Can't feel anything yet.... But hopefully in the next couple of weeks!

Food cravings: Watermelon and cheddar cheese!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing anymore!

Have you started to show yet: Yes to me and Nick but I doubt anyone else would notice

Gender prediction: This past week I have said HIM in all my conversations and it sounds so normal! 5 weeks until we hopefully find out!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! So so happy!

Looking forward to: Feeling Baby T move in the next couple of weeks!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 13

Honeymoon week!! This week has been spent relaxing and adventuring through Phuket eating delicious food, riding elephants, feeding baby tigers, kissing snakes, snorkelling with Nemo and sharks (Bruce perhaps?!), watching freaky (gross!) shows in Patong and for poor Nick... Battling gastro for 2 days ( that's what he gets for ordering a milkshake in Thailand!)! My morning sickness has GONE! Besides a little upset belly from the different food over here I am feeling fantastic and full of energy but we will see how long this energy lasts once the 5am starts at work begin next week!

My bump is actually.. Bumpish! I can feel my uterus in my belly now. A really hard curved bulge under my belly button. I love to lay in bed with my hand on it and hope that if I lay quietly enough I might feel Baby T... No luck yet! But it feels a lot more real now that I can feel where Baby T is!

Here is my bump.. Definitely filled out a bit more I think! I am beginning to lose my waist and feel a little 'soft' although that could be all the yummy food I have eaten!

What is the baby up to this week? I am rapidly closing in on the end of my first trimester and our little peach size baby is probably just as fuzzy as a peach with a fine layer of hair all over Baby T's body! The vocal chords are developing ready for us to hear the first cry in less than 6 months (oh I can't wait!!) and all the connections between the brain, nerves and muscles are all formed!

Maternity clothes? Not yet but I have bought lots of stretchy pants in Thailand that will hopefully see me through until I am a huge whale!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Plenty! This week has been amazing! Waking up next to my husband without an annoying alarm at 4:30am!

Best moment this week: An Australian lady on our elephant trek tour commented that she thought I was pregnant!! I think I was bloated BUT it felt nice that someone else had noticed! We also bought Baby T his or her first singlet and if its a girl we bought a cute little tie dye jumpsuit that can transform into into pants too (if Baby T turns out to be a boy... We figured we have Sarah or Teaghan's baby that could be a girl!.... Figured we had good odds of atleast one of us with a girl)

Miss Anything? Nothing at all pregnancy related but I miss our home and our puppies and 'normal' food!

Movement: Nothing yet :-(

Food cravings: Coffee actually! I cut out caffeine a couple of months before we started trying and haven't felt like it since (mainly because the smell was gross to me) until now. But no coffee for me.. So will stick to inhaling the fumes from Nick's morning coffee!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really... Bit off in my belly and the smells here are so strong that I find my stomach in my mouth quite a few times a day!

Have you started to show yet: Definitely a lot more filled out and rounder but from am outsider I think it would just look normal.

Gender prediction: No idea now. I had the strong girl feeling initially but now am not sure!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Happy or Moody: Happy! Have had a fantastic week with my husband (hard to believe I have been a wife for over a week!) and can't wait to get home and start to focus on our little family (rather than the wedding)!

Looking forward to: August 28th when we have our 20 week scan and hopefully find out the sex!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 12

Wedding week!!!!!!!! The best day of my life!! What a week we have had! Monday started with the most amazing concert I have ever been to- P!nk !!! It was so good I joked to Nick that our wedding wouldn't be able to beat it! Ha ha! And that brings us to the wedding celebrations! We arrived home very late Wednesday night and collapsed into bed ready for a jam packed Thursday. We woke up early had a delicious breakfast where Nick conveniently request scrambled eggs so I didn't have to avoid the fried eggs and runny yolk. We got all of the ribbons tied on the bubbles and our table numbers cut out and glued together. Then we headed to Collette's where my little bump was greeted with just as much excitement as we were! We finished off our lolly boxes and got everything packed in the car to head to my 'final' dress fitting!! Well..... The dress lady got the dress on and started to zip it up... IT DIDNT FIT!!!!! My boobs have grown so much that she had to take it out as far as she possibly could so it could do up and I didn't look like I was going to explode out of it! From that drama we headed straight to Manon's House to put the final touches on for the reception. The celebrant met us there and we quickly found out that we NEEDED Nicks birth certificate and we didn't have it!! Let the stress begin!! Luckily we were able to get one on Friday!

Friday was much less dramatic with a family breakfast where I once again avoided runny eggs even though I love them, yummy lunch and then Coll and I headed to the apartment to relax ready for Saturday!

WEDDING DAY!!! It started nice and early for me with our hair and makeup lady getting there before 8 to get started. This kept me busy and distracted until about 1pm when Smith and Alice were dropped off and we started to dress them and then Coll was dressed and before I knew it I had my dress on, my shoes, jewellery and we were out the door. I saw my Dad and Pop first and had to blink back the tears so my makeup wasn't ruined before I got to he aisle!

A very quick car trip later and we were there... Nicks song Waiting on a Woman started to play and I started to cry again. Then our aisle song started and the twins were off, then Coll was off.... Then my turn! I cried! The happiest tears imaginable! As soon as I saw Nick at the end of the aisle I knew I was safe and comfortable! It was an amazing feeling walking towards him. Half an hour later.... I am now Mrs TONGUE and I couldn't be happier!

The rest of the night went perfectly with great food, great company and alot of dancing and photos! I thought I had tricked most people by drinking sparkling apple juice instead of champagne.. But some people caught on! At 10:30 we were whisked off and headed away to start our married life together!

We woke up early Sunday morning to head to breakfast with butterflies in our belly ready to announce Baby T! We had no plan on how we were going to announce it so when we saw Grub and Sue going to leave we took our chance.... "Thankyou everybody for coming... And... We are 13 weeks pregnant!!!!!". Everybody was so surprised and excited and I loved finally being able to talk about it!

So now for this weeks bump photo...

How far along? 12 weeks!

What is the baby up to this week? Baby T now has reflexes, his hands will open and close, his mouth will make sucking movements, eyes will clench and toes will curl! Nerve cells are multiplying and the intestines start to move into their right spot and the kidneys have started to make urine!

Maternity clothes? Not yet but at night I need to undo a button or two because my belly bloats up!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Not enough due to the stress and excitement of the wedding!

Best moment this week: Seeing our beautiful Bubba!! The ultrasound on Tuesday was unbelievable! Baby T was kicking me and jumping around like on a trampoline! We could see every perfect little part of him or her! Baby T started to drink and we could see the mouth opening and closing and by the end of it Baby T had managed to flip over and face the other direction! I will put photos at the end for everyone to see!

Miss Anything? Runny eggs!!

Movement: Can't feel anything yet. It was crazy to see Baby T moving around so much in there but I couldn't feel it.

Food cravings: Watermelon still!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not anything specifically although pumpkin and garlic still make my belly flip a little.

Have you started to show yet: Not yet, but it is really hard underneath my belly button so hopefully I will start to get a bump soon

Gender prediction: Still a girl! We did ask the ultrasound tech to have a look but we couldn't see anything yet.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! My hormones aren't playing with my head this week so I'm feeling much more like myself!

Looking forward to: August 28th when we have our 20 week scan and hopefully find out the sex!

Well that is all for this week!
