Week 37

Full term Baby!!!!!! I am officially 'full term' and Baby T can come anytime between now and January 24th (which puts me 10 days overdue but that's when they start inducing). This has all become very real and I am so so ready to meet out baby girl. Every little pain I get I keep thinking "is this it?" and my Braxton hick contractions are so often now I just keep waiting for them to get to be real painful contractions. I have been so emotional stable and not moody this pregnancy.... But I feel like I am about to crack. My ribs ache constantly, Braxton hicks take my breath away so I feel like I am only getting half the oxygen I need, little things at work set off the tears and I can stop finding things to clean. BUT I am so proud of myself and my body for supporting and carrying our daughter for nearly 9 months. I am so proud of Nick and how supportive he is even though I am a nut case most of the time.  I am trying to take each day as it comes but all of the comments about "haven't you had her yet?" And "oh you're still here!" are beginning to get on my nerves. Our baby girl will come when she is ready and I need to understand that. It still doesn't make me any less impatient.

Lots of people have been taking guesses for her birthdate- I think the 4th or the 11th, Tanya wants the 8th as it's her birthday and Nick has said the 10th (since that's what his app told him before our very first ultrasound).

This week was Christmas week too- we spent the day with our friends and their family and I wore exactly what I wore last Xmas so we could get a comparison photo one year later!

I don't feel like I am getting any bigger bump wise- and I still get the daily comments about how small it is!

What is the baby up to this week? She is full term so from her on out she just puts on about 200g of fat each week.

Maternity clothes? Nothing new but on a totally unrelated topic we got a pram liner made for her pram and I love it!!

Stretch marks? Nope! And hoping to get away with none... Fingers crossed!

Sleep: afternoon naps are my best friend right now. I am getting up to go to the toilet 4-5 times a night and when I am busting to wee I get a lot more braxton hicks so end up laying in bed as my belly tightens and relaxes over and over.

Best moment this week: a very random story actually- we were watching a couple of movies we hadn't seen in ages and neither of us had ever thought anything of the characters until we heard our baby girls name in them BOTH!! it was freaky! But so nice to hear her name spoken by people other than us. And then we took the dogs to the beach for a long walk on Boxing Day and of all little girls on the beach they decided to play with one... Her Mum was taking photos of her playing with the dogs and then called out her name.... It was Baby T's name!!!!  since it is such an uncommon name it was simply crazy to hear it on a beach!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!

Movement: No longer getting kicks and jabs and instead I can feel her stretching and pushing and rolling around in there. I get big golf ball sized protrusions out of the side of my belly and wonder "foot, heel, elbows, knee??"... Agh I just want to see her .

Food cravings: green grapes!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: the heat!!  And letting myself get too hungry! We also went out for a date night to a Chocolate Cafe and ate waaaaayy to much chocolate- poor baby girl would have been having a sugar frenzy in there- safe to say I have steered clear of sugar since then.

Have you started to show yet: Ooohhhh yes!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: lots and lots of Braxton hicks and pressure in my groin!

Belly Button in or out? Out!! !

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Although getting hormonal and emotional!

Looking forward to: experiencing labour! I know it sounds silly but I really can't wait to know what it feels like and experience birth!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 36

Nursery is done! Monitor is set up! Capsule has been fitted in my car!

I have scrubbed the bathroom, toilet, kitchen from top to bottom. Nesting has definately kicked in.... It's like my eyes can see things that I was blind to before. I wiped down all the skirting boards and even wiped down the light switches! I am trying to keep the house clean and tidy just in case baby girl decides to come early. As of Christmas Eve we are full term and is in the 5 week window that most births happen in!!  Oh dear!!!! I am still working full time at the bakery which is keeping me busy and distracted from the daily countdown. It is also helping with the fluid retention (I think).... I don't really swell too much luckily!

I feel HUGE but over and over I get comments about how small my bump is... I am just lucky I think!

What is the baby up to this week? I think from her on out she is basically just a small, medium and large watermelon.. So HUGE!!! She weighs about 2.7 kg and is pretty much at her birth length (around 50cm). She is shedding her downy hair that was covering her body and is losing the waxy layer of vernix that protects her skin. If she were to be born now she would not need help breathing and would have no major health issues. We had a midwife appointment this week and the midwife wasn't sure whether she had flipped around to be breech so we had to get another midwife to feel my belly- and she couldn't tell either! So we had to call a doctor in with an ultrasound machine to check.... She was a good girl and was head down! Turns out her butt feels a bit like a head ha ha!

Maternity clothes? No new ones. Just wearing my pre pregnancy singlets that are long enough to cover my belly.

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: getting harder and super uncomfortable but nothing worthy of complaining about... I love pregnancy and although I am VERY VERY excited for Baby T to arrive I know I am counting down the days that I am no longer and pregnant woman  !

Best moment this week: Packing the hospital bags... They are all packed and ready to go!!!!

Miss Anything? Nothing!

Movement: She is definately a mover and a kicker! It is an indescribable feeling that still makes my heart beat a little faster when she pokes her little feet or knees out- it makes me so happy to know I have carried her for nearly 9 months and she is a healthy, kicking bub.

Food cravings: green grapes!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: Ooohhhh yes!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: Plenty of Braxton hicks (sometimes up to 4 an hour) and lots of pressure in my lower belly and crotch from her head pushing town.

Belly Button in or out? Out!! !

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: meeting our baby girl!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 35

This week has marked the beginning of typical pregnancy symptoms for me- my feet and ankles are super swollen by the end of the day and I have acid reflux that burns my throat! My Braxton Hicks have increased too and I have about 15 a day which is a positive sign for a good labour apparently. My whole belly goes rock hard and you can see the perfect outline of her bottom and feet as it tightens and then as it relaxes again I get my nice rounded belly back.

What is the baby up to this week? She weighs about 2.4kg and is 45cm long. Her kidneys are fully developed and her liver can process some waste products. She is busily putting in weight (which means I am too) and developing active/sleep cycles now that my belly is so stretched out that she can tell the difference between light and dark!

Maternity clothes? I was gifted a maternity shirt with stretchy sides and it is so comfortable! I bought a few nursing/feeding shirts this week too ready for when Baby T arrives in a few weeks.

Stretch marks? Nope! I check daily and have had to get Nick to check under my belly button since I can't see that part of my belly anymore!

Sleep: my pelvis is very sore of a night which makes sleeping on my side very painful and even worse is rolling over but with my maternity pillow between my knees I have been getting fairly good sleep!

Best moment this week: THE NURSERY!!!!!! Oh it's beautiful... And colourful and I love it!! My favourite room in the house by far!  I can't wait to be able to use it! We got all of our prints in frames and hung up, the shelves put together and the change table organised!

We picked up 2 prints from a a market a few months ago and framed them for her room...

My Nan and Pop bought me this canvas as an engagement gift and it fits perfectly into Baby T's room

And this amazing play blanket from Ben and Carly- it also matches perfectly!!

We were originally going to get her name made out of a wooden cut out and painted to match the room but I fell in love with these initial frames.... Our little 'A' baby!

Miss Anything? Nothing too much this week- although I would like to be able to bend over without grunting!

Movement: so so much movement I feel like she is going to explode out of my skin sometimes she pushes so hard!

Food cravings: Watermelon!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No labour signs but Braxton hicks and having her head so low down in my pelvis is a good sign. I have also been getting occasional period like pains in my lower belly which is my body preparing for labour. Still a few weeks away though nothing to be worried about.

Belly Button in or out? A squishy gross outie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy and impatient! I am so ready to have our baby girl here! I am ready to be a Mum and raise our baby girl with my wonderful husband!

Looking forward to: our next midwife appointment to hear her heartbeat and see how engaged her head is.

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 34

Most of my week was spent back in NSW visiting family and friends! It was so wonderful to see everyone before Baby T is born and we recieved so many wonderful gifts for our baby girl and now that my family knows we are having a baby girl it was nice to have all of the pretty pink stuff out. I was exhausted by the end of the trip and loved crawling into my own bed and seeing my husband who I had missed terribly while I was away. I went back to work the next day and had a lot of people commenting on the fact that I had finally popped! Baby girl is so high I can feel her kick underneath my ribs and her feet click against my ribs when she gets excited in there!

What is the baby up to this week? I think she has started to drop and engage in my pelvis- I have started to waddle because it feels like her head is just so low in my pelvis! She is basically just putting on fat until her due date and filling out her skin.

Stretch marks? None!

Sleep: Great actually! It is hard to fall asleep but once I am asleep it is a nice deep sleep and I feel rested in the morning (at 4:30am when I get up) but by the afternoon after work I am keen for a nap.

Best moment this week: I got all of her cloth diaper covers washed and dried and made a start on her nursery!

Miss Anything? Exercise and not feeling ill!!

Movement: So so much sometimes it hurts! She goes absolutely crazy just after dinner time and it moves my belly around and makes me feel sea sick!

Food cravings: Grapes!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Her crazy movements and too much milk!!

Have you started to show yet: Definatley!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: This week has been the most uncomfortable so far- I have had a tonne of Braxton hicks (which is great according to the midwife as it means my labour should be strong and fast), some period pain cramps when I overdo it and sharp shooting pains in my pelvis when I walk!

Belly Button in or out? OUT OUT it still rubs on my shirts and feels gross!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Although today on my last day of the week I had a minor freak out when I realised there is only 35 days to go and I have so much to do around the house- my nesting instinct has kicked in I think!!!!

Looking forward to: our next midwife appointment- our 34 week one went well- baby girl is in the perfect position and her heart rate was perfect (140bpm)!!!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 33

Less than 50 days to go until we meet our little princess! This week has been very low key- just work and relaxing! My bump is of course bigger than ever but I do still get the "oh your belly is still so small' comments.

What is the baby up to this week? According to our growth scan she is about 2.2kgs and they estimate she will be 3.6kgs by her due date.

Stretch marks? None! I have been applying lotion regularly but from what I've read if I am going to get them it will happen in the next few weeks regardless of the amount of lotion I use.

Sleep: I am taking advantage of my afternoon naps every few days to catch up and recharge my batteries when I have had a long day at work but other than that just sleep like usual. My right leg has begun to get bad cramps when I lay on my right hip and I wake up with shooting pains down my leg.

Best moment this week: our growth scan!! We got to see our baby girl again! It has made me so much more impatient to hurry up the next 6-7 weeks so we can meet her. She is measuring perfectly.. Just 3 days behind her gestational age and just below the average line which means she won't be too big or too small at birth.

We think she looks just like me as a newborn- pouty sucked in bottom lip and a little pug nose. I can't wait to see what colour eyes she has and her hair colour of she isn't a bald baby.

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my tummy although I would gladly give that and everything else up to keep our baby girl happy and healthy in there.

Movement: Lots is definately and understatement! Nick sometimes catches it out of the corner of his eye as my belly rolls around and she stretches her little legs out. She must be so cramped in there. She pushes her little bottom out and pushes against my stomach with her legs!

Food cravings: Still salads. And fruit. And cereal.

Anything making you queasy or sick: chicken and too much cheese turns my stomach just at the thought of it.

Have you started to show yet: silly question now... I am one big Mumma!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: the dark line down my belly is starting to stretch upwards now, my boobs leak (which is gross.. But a GREAT sign that they work and will hopefully provide our baby girl with everything she needs)!

Belly Button in or out? An OUTIE and it's squishy and gross and rubs on my shirts... I may need to start wearing a bandaid over it!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! And impatient! Only 42 days (and counting) until she is due!

Looking forward to: hearing baby girls heartbeat at our midwife appointment on Friday and going home to see family and friends and show off my bump!!!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 32

I know I say it every week BUT... These weeks are flying by!! I had my last uni exam this week and my first day off work without any uni work to do and I was... Bored! I had cleaned the house top to bottom the day before so was so confused what I was meant to do on my DAY OFF!! It definately affirmed to me that I am glad I am not taking maternity leave too early- I would go crazy I think!! I can't wait to spend my whole day with our baby girl but at the moment while she's in my belly there's not too much to do. I actually spent the day washing all of Baby T's cloth nappy inserts and boy do we have ALOT of them!! I washed and dried them all so they are super absorbent now!

I washed all of her sheets and towels ready for her arrival! Everything smells so fresh and looks so beautiful and pink! We finished painting the house this week too!! So no more random painted squares in my weekly bump photos! I honestly can't believe there is only 7 weeks to go until we meet our baby girl!!!

My bump is coming along nicely- actually had a customer at work who I have served EVERY Monday for the last 6 months say 'oh wow I didn't know you were pregnant!'... She was very shocked when I told her I was 8 months pregnant!

What is the baby up to this week? She weighs nearly 2kg now and spends the next 7 weeks putting on more than half of her birth weight (which means I am going to get HUUUUGGEEE!!)

Stretch marks? Thankfully none.. So far! My skin feels very tight though so I rub Vitamin E cream on daily!

Sleep: Very broken due to the toilet breaks and then when I get back into bed she is wide awake and kicks me so hard I can feel the side of my stomach push into the mattress!

Best moment this week: We had our midwife appointment and she is growing perfectly! She is definately head down and the midwife managed to find her heartbeat within a second!  Her heartbeat was really fast (over 170) because she was being a little worm in there wriggling around! Eventually it went down when she decided to stay still! My fundal height at 32 weeks was 32cm- PERFECT! We booked my growth scan in for next Thursday just to double check that my low placenta protein level hasn't affected her growth. The midwife has suggested I take iron tablets every 2nd day because I am planning on working until my due date (which makes most people laugh) and she believes I am going to start to get really tired soon. So far I feel great.. But getting BIGGER and bending down and the sciatic nerve back pain is getting worse (but nothing I can't handle)!

Miss Anything? Exercising!! Running! Walking the dogs without getting a stitch or shooting pains up and down my legs and butt! Sleeping on my stomach! Although is wouldn't trade any of that for the feeling I get knowing I am responsible for growing and supporting our baby girl!

Movement: lots and lots! My stomach takes on the weirdest shapes when she rolls around. She tends to stick her butt  up in the air and I get a massive bulge on one side of my stomach while the other is completely flat!

Food cravings: Apples still!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I seem to have lost my appetite these days!! I am usually starving in the mornings but by the time lunch and dinner come around I am just not at all hungry and usually have to force myself to eat something.

Have you started to show yet: YES!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: nothing new this week except maybe my lack of appetite!

Belly Button in or out? In/out.... Can't make up its mind at the moment!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! And relaxed! Nick has been so amazing these past few weeks putting up with my crazy uni stressful ness and offering foot and back massages (which are fantastic and so relaxing!). We are both so excited and happy to be planning for our baby girl!

Looking forward to: Our ultrasound next Thursday morning!!!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 31

We are officially in single digits!!!!!!!! 9 weeks to go!!!! 9 weeks until we get to meet our baby girl! 9 weeks until our lives are changed forever!  We can't wait!!!! Only 60-ish days to go!!!!!!! This week has been long and stressful! I have worked ALOT and studied even more- with a massive exam on Wednesday and my last one for the year on Tuesday!  I cannot wait to have them out of the way. We got the lounge room/dining room/entrance way painted this weekend and the house is finally looking .. Finished! I can now get our frames and photos up on the walls so it feels more homely!

We also got our pram and capsule!!

Most conversations I have with people about my pregnancy involve me saying "I have less than 9 weeks to go" followed by their reply "but your bump is still so small"!! Every single person!!!! Even strangers say it!!! I suppose it's better than having them say "are you sure there's only 1 in there" ha ha!

What is the baby up to this week? She is over 41cm long and weighs nearly 1.6kg! She is heading into a growth spurt and is plumping up! She can turn her head from side to side!

Stretch marks? Thankfully none.. So far!

Sleep: Besides my 3 a night toilet breaks and being woken up by baby girls kicks and punches my sleeping has been wonderful!

Best moment this week: Today! We went to a market near our house and there was a 3D imaging stall there! So we got some 3D photos of Baby T! She was not very cooperative though and had her hands up over her face most of the time. We still got to see her pretty little face, chubby cheeks and at one stage she was holding onto her foot with her hand and then suddenly let it go? It was very funny to watch!

Miss Anything? Being able to sleep on my stomach!

Movement: So so much and today at our scan we got to see exactly how she is laying... Her head is down on the right side of my pelvis with her butt up over the left side of my belly button and her feet are up under my ribs!

Food cravings: Apples! Salads!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing too much. Just a general feeling of nausea at night time.

Have you started to show yet: YEP!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: my sciatic nerve is sending painful cramps down my right leg and it's very hard to roll over in bed!

Belly Button in or out? Definately an outie now!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! No emotional moments this week luckily! Even with the stress of uni work!

Looking forward to: our midwife appointment on Wednesday!!! And having my exams out of the way so I can tackle her nursery.. Which currently looks like this...

Well that is all for this week!

Week 30

Oh wow!!  Only 10 weeks to go! We are officially in the 30's! Not an eventful week really. We have had so many generous friends give us things for our baby girl- we have a bath, high chair, walker, another carrier and more cloth diapers! I can't wait until exams are over and I am back from my visit to NSW so I can get started on washing her clothes, sheets and and getting her room ready for her arrival.

Nick thinks I have definately popped again this week- my work shirt is getting tight around my belly finally... But hoping I can wear it for a few more weeks!

What is the baby up to this week? Her lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed and is about 40cm long (nearly her birth length)! She is opening her eyes all the time and can probably make out light and dark from inside my belly! There is about 800mL-1L of amniotic fluid around her (I will blame atleast 1kg of my weight gain on that ha ha ha) which is pushing up against my lungs making it very hard to breathe- her head is also wedged very tightly against my lungs and ribs which make it very  had to bend over to tie my laces!

Stretch marks? Thankfully none.. So far!

Sleep: Last night was actually a great night of sleep... I am usually up 2-3 times at night but can fall straight back to sleep luckily! I feel like I could nap anywhere at anytime too!

Best moment this week: antenatal class was very interesting- it was all about what CAN happen unexpectedly during labour- like induction, vacuum or forceps and c-sections! We found out Baby girl is the only stubborn one on the class and is the only one still breech- but she has until 36 weeks to turn around (96% of bubs are turned by then) and if not they will try to turn her from the outside!

Miss Anything? Runny eggs! Nick had them at breakfast yesterday and they looked so so yummy!!

Movement: LOTS! And lots of Braxton hicks (usually more when I haven't had enough water). She is a little terror at night and kicks and rolls around so much that I flinch in pain and can't get comfortable! Nick loves it though because he gets to feel my belly and guess what body parts she is pushing out!

Food cravings: Apples! Iced chocolates!

Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of coffee this week!!

Have you started to show yet: Oh YES!!!!! My belly button is poking out on the right side!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: I have started to get a linea nigra (the dark line that runs down the middle of your belly)- it is really faint at the moment but no doubt will get darker!

Belly Button in or out? In/out.... Can't make up its mind at the moment!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!  Had a few emotional moments this week- either felt like crying at nothing or just an overwhelming sense so love and happiness for the little family Nick and I have!

Looking forward to: our last antenatal class and being in single digits for our countdown!!!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 29

Hi my name is Rhiannon and I am a hormonal basket case! It seriously feels like I just woke in this week and was HUGE! Everything is rounder and softer and bumpier and my body just doesn't feel like it belongs to me anymore! We had a BBQ at a friends house and it took every ounce of my will power not to break down in a sobbing heap. I tried on so many clothes and nothing fits like it used to and I am so uncomfortable. Nick eventually picked a dress out for me (after a few laughs at me as I fought back tears) and I calmed down enough to go out.

Besides my little melt down this week has been fabulous. We had our labour class where we learnt about what to expect from labour and how to know when to head to the hospital. I am hoping for a natural, drug free water birth BUT I am open minded and will do whatever it takes to get our baby girl out safely!

Okay... MY BUMP! I officially feel like a hippo! I have had lots of comments this week about how I have 'popped' finally... FINALLY!!

What is the baby up to this week? She is nearly at her birth length!!! But will pretty much triple her weight before she is born! She puts on about 200g a week (which explains why I am always so hungry). She will start to get into her 'birth position' soon - head down facing my back!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: It is impossible to get comfortable anymore so my sleep is very broken and I always feel very.. Very tired!

Best moment this week: We got a few more things for our baby girls nursery- some essentials like a the change pad and mattress protector. We bought a change mat to match the bunting we have for her wall and 2 big prints to frame for her wall!!!

Miss Anything? Soft serve!  An Oreo Mcflurry!!!!!

Movement: Baby girl is head up at the moment with her hands and feet pushing straight onto my bladder.. Her kicks and punches make me jump and wince in pain and usually send me running for the toilet! She has had hiccups a few times too and my belly jumps around!

Food cravings: Cups of tea and cereal with icy cold milk!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes..... Can't believe I still have 10 more weeks of growing to go!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: Lower back ache after work (which Nick lovingly massages for me) and Braxton hicks but nothing too major. It has been a pretty breezy pregnancy ... So far!

Belly Button in or out? The right side is just starting to pop out.. It is gross!! My belly button ring doesn't sit flat anymore because my belly button is pushing it out!

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy... EMOTIONAL- I am proud of the fact that it took nearly 30 weeks for my hormones to send me crazy!

Looking forward to: antenatal class!!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 28

These weeks are just flying by!! In less than 9 weeks Baby T is considered 'full term' and can make her entrance anytime after that without needing any help to breathe once she is here! I have been so busy with work and uni that the days just fly past. One more week of uni left until exams and holidays!! I can't wait to have my first year of Vet School out of the way and can focus on getting setup for our baby girl. I feel like I am getting humongous but weighed myself at our midwife appointment and have gained just over 4kg which is amazing considering how much food I eat constantly. Our midwife appointment was a routine checkup and also my gestational diabetes test which I passed.... Yay!! I had to drink a VERY sugary drink VERY fast and then wait an hour for a blood test. The midwife took my blood pressure- all good! Checked my belly- all good! And then attempted to find Baby T's heartbeat while she wriggled around in there playing cheeky buggers with the midwife's Doppler machine. It was hilarious and the midwife kept laughing at my belly rolling around! Eventually she found a heartbeat- all good!

I have been trying to stay active as much as possible this pregnancy so I didn't lose my fitness- but the first 12 weeks of sickness followed by extreme tiredness combined with 8 hour days on my feet at work has meant I have been mainly resting/walking with the dogs! Today we went for a long walk with the dogs on the beach and it felt so nice to get my blood pumping.

My bump feels a lot bigger than it looks. I can't see my knees anymore so it's definately a big bump! Also just realised there is painted squares of sample paint on the wall behind me- our room is the last to get painted unfortunately so we have multi coloured squares until then!

What is the baby up to this week? Baby T is over 1 kilo now!!! That is just amazing to me! She opens and closes her eyes all the time and will move her head towards a light source (which I can feel when we shine a torch on my belly). She is about 38cm long.... Hard to believe she can fit in there!!!

Maternity clothes? I think I will delete this question... The answer is always the same! No new ones!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: Not the best unfortunately- I struggle to get comfortable and when I finally do baby girl kicks so hard it jolts me awake again.

Best moment this week: our midwife appointment to hear her heartbeat and our antenatal class. We learned about getting her to sleep and what to expect from her sleep wise. Also learned about breastfeeding and how the midwives will help me out at the start! I know they work as they have been making and leaking (gross!) colostrum (pre-milk) for a couple of months now!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee and Oreo mcflurries

Movement: LOTS!

Food cravings: Still apples!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing! It feels like so long ago that I was spending all day and night feeling sick with morning sickness.. I have been told it may come back so I am hoping it doesn't!!

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Symptoms: This one said labour signs but the answer will be No for atleast 10 or so week so I changed it to symptoms. I have very sore wrists and hands. They ache and my wrists have become so weak I always seem to drop things! My nose seems to be blocked/runny all the time and I get so busting to go to toilet that I run to the toilet only to have a tiny wee happen.... I truly can't wait to be able to fully empty my bladder ha ha!

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: So so happy!!!

Looking forward to: our next antenatal class about labour!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo

Week 27

We have nursery furniture!!!!!! After a hectic weekend of painting and scrubbing and vacuuming we finally got to put our Baby Girls furniture together and her room is coming together!  Now I can get stuck into washing all of her clothes and nappies and picking out a cot sheet set.... Aah so many options!

I think this week I finally 'feel' pregnant! It is a lot harder to bend down and I can feel her head or feet hitting me in the lungs and wedging herself under my ribs so I can't breathe properly! Hard to believe I have 13 more weeks to go and she is going to get bigger and more cramped! I feel like she must be running out of room! My feet and ankles are starting to swell up of a night after a whole day on my feet and my wrists and hands are getting very sore at the end of the day. My bump just gets bigger and bigger! I can still wear a few pre pregnancy shorts and jeans for now so it's not too big just yet!

What is the baby up to this week? She weighs nearly a kilo now!! She sleeps and wakes at exhilarating intervals and has opened her eyes now. Her lungs are still not developed but are on their way just like her brain which has billions of brain cells now (more than adults!!! That's crazy!!)

Maternity clothes? No new ones and I doubt I will get any- baggy shirts work wonders!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: getting more uncomfortable of a night and baby girl seems to wake up just as I lay down to sleep and kicks my sides over and over!

Best moment this week: her furniture!!!! She has her own room now! It is definately my favourite room of the house!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!! And having enough energy to exercise properly. I feel so unfit and can't wait to get fit again.

Movement: all the time! She mainly wakes up when I have got home from work and lay down and then about 8am every morning she wakes up and rolls around.

Food cravings: Apples!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy .. Luckily for Nick I haven't been too emotional!!!

Looking forward to: our antenatal class and our midwife appointment on Wednesday!

Week 26

Where is time going????? This is my last week of my 2nd trimester which most books say is the 'honeymoon' phase and that now I have nausea, swelling and general uncomfortableness to look forward to! This week has been action packed- we had Nick's 23rd birthday, 2 dinners out with friends, painted the laundry, toilet AND our baby girls nursery!!!!  Here is the before and during shot and in a few weeks I will get the after shots up! And yes... He painted in his undies!!!!!

I love walking past her .. Yes HER room!! It is no longer just the treadmill room that gets closed off... It is the most important room in our home!! It is where our Baby Girl will spend her first night (and the next night.. and the next night.... ) we bring her home! Our 6 weekly sessions of antenatal classes started this week too. The first class was a basic intro where the Mums went to one room to talk about all the gory downstairs stuff before during and after birth and the Dads spent an hour and a half doing secret men's business (there was a lot of laughter from what we could hear).

My bump is officially getting noticed! The girl at Subway asked when I was due yesterday and I couldn't help but grin! I feel so proud of my bump although it now makes putting my shoes on and shaving my legs VERY difficult! I can tell I have been working too hard at work when I start to get Braxton Hicks regularly so I make sure I drink ALOT of water and sit down.

What is the baby up to this week? All five of her senses are fully developed now and she is focusing on getting fatter and filling out her skin. She is about 2 pounds now!!! Woah!!!

Maternity clothes? No new ones just trying to make the most of baggy shirts and stretchy pants!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: I am usually up about 3-4 times a night to pee or getting kicked in the lungs!

Best moment this week: getting our Baby Girls room painted and picking up her cot and change table... I can't wait to wash all of her clothes and cloth diapers (will post the cloth diaper photos up next week) and get her room all prettified for her arrival!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!!

Movement: she is most active at night and rolls around in there kicking back at Nick when he pokes my belly. And we can so clearly make out her body shape... We can feel little feet pushing out and what we think may be an arm pushing out under my ribs!

Food cravings: Still apples!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: So so happy!!!

Looking forward to: our next antenatal classes and my gestational diabetes test next Wednesday

Well that is all for this week!

Week 25

I can't believe I am PAST 6 months!!!  Time really has flown and in about 3 months we will be welcoming our precious baby girl into our world!!! I often lay awake while she is kicking and rolling around and imagine what I will feel when she is finally here and I can hold her close to me for the first time- my heart bursts with happiness and LOVE that I can only imagine will be amplified when she is actually in my arms and on my chest! I have so many vivid dreams lately that I feel like I get hardly any sleep- I dreamt I was giving birth this week and our baby girl had dark curly hair which is surprising snide both Nick and I were blonde/bald at birth!! We were at a Cafe this week and a group of friends were passing around a sweet baby girl and I couldn't help but smile at Nick- THAT will be us soon!! We both can't wait!!

This week I have a lot of comments at work about my bump finally growing- and I feel huge!!! I feel huge everywhere though- I think the lack of running (really the only exercise I enjoy) has made me squisher than usual so I am struggling to accept my not so tight body- but hopefully can start running 6 or so weeks after she is born.

What is the baby up to this week? Her hands are fully formed now including her own individual fingerprints and this week her spine begins to take its permanent shape. She is roughly 1.5 pounds now!!

Maternity clothes? No new ones- just rocking my stretchy Thailand pants at home and my maternity jeans everywhere else!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: when I get enough it is perfect - but this rarely happens and I am usually exhausted after my 5am start at work and NEED a nap!!

Best moment this week: we had antenatal appointment and heard her heartbeat again and had my fundal height measured- PERFECT!!! We have my gestational diabetes test at Week 28 when we will schedule our growth scan to check that my placenta is doing what it should.

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!!

Movement: Her kicks and jabs have become so 'normal' that I am going to miss her being in there.

Food cravings: Still apples.. The colder and crisper the better!!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room walls next weekend and getting it all cleaned for her furniture to come in the week after.

Well that is all for this week!

Week 24

Oh our baby girl is getting so big and strong! We can feel her long feet through my belly when she pushes out and boy does it stretch my belly out! Most of the day I am walking around with a wonky one sided belly because she sticks her head out on the left side of my belly button and I have a permanent bulge there!

I have been having a few Braxton Hicks this week which is my uterus practicing for labor.. So a good sign that my body knows what it will have to do in 15 weeks! They are mostly painless and just a general tightening but I had one VERY painful one at Good guys this week and couldn't talk through it? I think it was a combination of a Braxton hick and round ligament pain as she is stretching  my belly out so much. I have also had a tearing/ripping feeling behind my belly button which is made worse when I am laying in bed without my belly supported.

My bump is definately a bump now!!  Although I look at this photo and don't look THAT big!

What is the baby up to this week? She is about 30cm long and is slowly filling out! Her brain is growing quickly and her taste buds are developing this week and may be able to taste what I am eating! She is starting to 'pink' up and be less translucent!

Maternity clothes? I bought a pair for work this week and they are so big I need to wear my belly belt over them to hold them up.... I will grow into them (hopefully)!

Stretch marks? Nope!

Sleep: let's not even go there.... Between a very sick Labrador and a baby girl that seems to take joy out of kicking my insides so hard at night that I am awake atleast once every hour... I have not had enough sleep.. But luckily it is uni holidays so I have been able to sleep in on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Best moment this week: Painting the nursery (well the ceiling.. The ceilings in the whole house actually) and having a random customer ask me when I was due- my bump was finally recognised as a bump!!!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee and soft serve!!

Movement: SO MUCH!!!!! We play a special classical music track to her and she just goes bananas in there flipping and rolling around!!

Food cravings: Pasta this week!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week

Have you started to show yet: YES!!!!! Not quite a basketball shaped bump yet but I have no waist anymore!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? Innie!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Mostly happy when Baby girl is moving around in there!  I have a feeling I am going to miss being pregnant and having our baby girl all to myself- but cannot wait to meet our little princess!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room walls and getting the furniture in!

Well that is all for this week!

Week 23

This week was spent recovering from a cold (while looking after Nick who had man flu!).. I am exhausted and even on my day off work I had to get up at 6am because laying down was blocking my nose and head up... Gross!!! Baby Girl has been little miss active this week and I am loving it. It still amazes me that another human is inside me! She has started to push out against my belly really hard and when I lay down Nick and I can feel the outline of her leg (or arm) or her head pushing out! It is a perfect reminder that in 120ish days will we be able to hold our baby girl, kiss her and cuddle her and smell that sweet smell that only newborns are capable of having!

Embracing the bump this week!! Still getting a few comments at work about not looking 'fat enough' to be 6 months pregnant but then yesterday a lady from work decided to randomly touch my belly.... I loved it!!! My first belly rub from a stranger!!! My bump has started to get a little in the way now.. I can't fit through as small gaps anymore and carrying boxes has become tricky since I used to use my stomach to hold it up too!!

What is the baby up to this week? She is over 1 pound now!!!!!! Amazing!!! And explains the heavy, large feeling I have! She is about 30cm from head to foot and her ear bones are fully formed (which means she can hear me singing in the car.. Poor girl). Her lungs are now developing for breathing and she is swallowing the amniotic fluid!

Maternity clothes? Just my jeans and a belly belt (aka a life saver)

Stretch marks? Nope! And lotioning daily!!

Sleep: sleeping is becoming tricky too... I am a stomach sleeper so I am making do with my modified side stomach position with the body pillow... But then baby girl decides that every hour on the hour is a great time to kick me as hard as possible that it makes me jump and I realise I need to go to the toilet.. EVERY HOUR!!!!

Best moment this week: We cleared out Baby T's room ready for painting this weekend and a surprise package on our front door from my Nan and her friend Shelly with the first of apparently many instalments of baby girl clothing!!!! Everything smells so clean and fresh!! And is so tiny!!

Miss Anything? Iced coffee!!!

Movement: So much!! I was laying in bed last night with my belly against Nicks back and WHOMP she kicked him straight in the back.. And then again.. And again!!!!! They kicks are so strong now!! We read somewhere that she will start to respond to light soon so we made the room dark and shone a torch on my belly... And like clockwork she kicked me right where the light was... We turned the light off and then back on.. Se she kicked again!!!!! We have one smart strong cookie in there!!

Food cravings:  Apples and Iced coffee.. So I am settling for apples!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Chicken..... Anything chicken-y!! And the smell of chips cooking... Uuughhhh!!!

Have you started to show yet: Definately a baby bump now!! We went to a market today and had a few women ask how far along I was while looking at my burgeoning belly!!

Gender prediction: no longer a prediction.... Sweet baby GIRL!!!!

Labor Signs: No!

Belly Button in or out? In and went and got a maternity belly ring!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy is an understatement!!!

Looking forward to: painting our baby girls room and our midwife appointment next Wednesday to hear her heartbeat!

Well that is all for this week!

Love from us (all 3 of us) xxoo
